Kentucky's Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) cut KTAP's maximum monthly benefit by about 35% starting in November 2025, bringing the top grant for a family of three down to $341 a month, still above the flat rate the state paid before a 2023 update first raised it. DCBS runs 120 offices across 120 cities where staff can process a KTAP case in person, alongside the kynect.ky.gov portal most families now use to apply. Kentucky Works, the program's companion job-readiness component, works with KTAP recipients on training and employment goals tied to keeping the grant active. As with most states, Kentucky counts every month a family draws KTAP toward a 60-month lifetime limit, regardless of whether those months were used consecutively.
